What is PROP UPS?

PROP UPS is a Quick Response Grants Program aimed at supporting innovative performing arts programming in regional communities in NSW and encouraging new performance initiatives and audience development.

The objectives are to support performance related community cultural development in regional and rural New South Wales through small grants (up to $1500) which:

• assist locally determined community cultural activities
• increase opportunities for regionally-based groups to access a diverse range of arts programs
• enable communities to explore and express their cultural identities
• bring social and economic benefits to the community through training, employment and promotional opportunities and
• lead to greater awareness and appreciation of cultural diversity

To be eligible for PROP UPS, a project must:

• Be an opportunity that has arisen at short notice, that could not have been foreseen or plannned for.
• Be an activity that, if it does not occur now, could not occur in the foreseeable future.

Applications INELIGIBLE for support through PROP UPS include the following:

• Planned or existing projects that are seeking funds to make up for a funding shortfall.
• Any project where an application could have been made through the Country Arts Support Program's annual grant round.
• Activities that are to commence within 3 weeks of the application being lodged.

Applications for PROP UPS can be made at any time during the year.

Applicants MUST first contact staff at the Funding Office at Regional Arts NSW to discuss their proposal before submitting an application.
