Regional Arts NSW seeks your endorsement of the NACA submission on the proposed Australia Council restructure

Regional community arts organisations and individuals are encouraged to provide their endorsement and/or comments on a nationally coordinated submission to the Australia Council's Planning for the Future Taskforce which must be finalised this Wednesday.

Produced by the National Arts and Culture Alliance (NACA) - a national coalition of CCD organisations, agencies, community groups and individual practitioners (which includes Regional Arts NSW) - the document is a detailed response to the Australia Council's proposed restructure which was announced last December.

In particular, the submission focuses on the revised model for the establishment of Community Partnerships section of the Australia Council's latest proposal.

The preparation of the submission follows both protracted negotiations by NACA members with the Australia Council as well as a number of long meetings and workshops involving the CCD field and the Australia Council. During this time the CCD sector has consistently expressed three key concerns:

the need for effective consultation with the field prior to the implementation of any restructure of the Australia Council,
the desire for a commitment to current levels of funding for CCD work by the Australia Council and
an undertaking by the Australia Council to evaluate the restucture in the future.
