A role for the arts in the NSW State Plan?

The draft NSW State Plan - A New Direction for NSW - was launched by the Premier, Morris Iemma, on 8 August as part of a widespread community consultation exercise with people across NSW.

The Plan aims to define the goals and outcomes that the NSW Government and community together agree should shape public policy over the next ten years and has been drafted around a number of themes.

Submissions were invited on the draft State Plan with a closing date of 8 September.

Community Feedback Forums were also held in a number of locations around the State including, in regional NSW: Bathurst, Singleton, Broken Hill, Newcastle, Tamworth, Coffs Harbour, Tweed Heads, Armidale, Gosford, Wollongong, Queanbeyan, Wagga Wagga, Nowra, Eden, Moree, Nelson Bay, Port Macquarie and Deniliquin.

The Government is expected to deliver the final State Plan in October.
