CASP 2005 now open for applications

Closing date: 14 February 2005

Is your community planning an arts project in 2005/06? Need some help to pay an artist or bring an artist to town to help you? Well get cracking, 'cause the next CASP deadline is on the horizon again!

CASP - or the Country Arts Support Program - is a vital program that delivers small grants to arts and community organisations, Regional Arts Boards and local arts councils for short term, locally initiated projects in regional and rural areas of the State.

In 2004 the program funded a total of 159 projects - ranging from bush poetry to middle eastern dance workshops; festival activities including experimental sound/new media, circus skills, film, street theatre and Indigenous arts; specialist arts workshops; live musical & theatre performances and even some edible art!

A total pool of $200,000 is available through CASP for 2005, with funds to be directed towards artists' fees, travel and accommodation.

CASP grants generally fall within the following ranges:
$300 to $1,500 for workshops (higher for workshops combined with performances)
$300 to $1,000 for performances
$300 to $2,000 for artists-in-residence, public art projects & exhibitions
$500 to $3,000 for arts activities as part of community festivals or events

2005 Guidelines and Application Forms are now available online on the Grants pages of this website here.
