CREATIVE VOLUNTEERING A WINNER!
Regional Arts Australia has won the prestigious South Australian Training Initiative Award 2003 for Creative Volunteering - No Limits! and is now being considered for a national award. The highly popular program has been a hit across regional Australia, offering nationally recognised training for regional volunteers working in the cultural sectors. ABS figures indicate most regional arts organisations are supported entirely by volunteers and this program aims to equip these volunteers with important skills. Workshops have been a huge success right across regional NSW, with courses still to come in Ballina, Bega, Cooma, Hay, Port Macquarie and Wagga Wagga. Courses cost just $25 each, so check out course descriptions and enrolment forms at www.regionalartsnsw.com.au or contact Amy at Regional Arts NSW Tel 02 9247 8577.

CALL FOR REGIONAL STORIES ON ABC RADIO NATIONAL - IT COULD BE YOU!
ABC Radio National's program, Bush Telegraph, is looking to hear from people aged between 8 - 108 years, who are living in regional or rural parts of Australia that want to have their say on ABC radio. If you're interested, you will be contributing to Bush Telegraph's 'Country Viewpoint' segment. This involves writing a 400 word script about anything to do with living in a regional area - it can be about ANYTHING, so long as it has a rural or regional perspective. The piece needs to be written the way you speak, so it sounds natural when it is recorded. If you're interested in writing and 400 words then recording them in your local ABC studio, contact Tara Vickers, Producer Bush Telegraph Tel 03 9626 1261 Email vickers.tara@abc.net.au
