LIVING OUT BACK
- PEOPLE OF WESTERN NEW SOUTH WALES
A new book that provides a glimpse into the diverse lives of people living
in outback New South Wales. There's the farmer who flies his plane as
often as most landowners drive a ute; the women who took up life - and
careers - in some of the state's most isolated country; the 'roo shooter
who wouldn't swap tiny Tilpa for anywhere in the world; a dog trainer,
an artist, a nurse, a politician. What they have in common however, is
a deep love of the land and the communities they have made their homes.
Coordinated by NSW Agriculture's Rural Women's Network, the book was developed
as a tribute to the Year of the Outback and recognises the important role
people living in outback NSW play in their communities. Cost: $27.50 +
$6.50 postage. Available from Allison Windus, Rural Women's Network Tel
