LYSISTRATA: A WOMAN'S TRANSLATION
3 - 13 March, Wagga Wagga

An adult-only comedy written by Drue Robinson Hagan and directed by Di Nichol, Lysistrata was first written by Aristophanes in approximately 400 BC. It is one of the earliest known anti-war plays ever penned, exploring with depth and humour the balance of sexuality, gender role battles (albeit ancient ones), love and war. It takes ancient Roman themes and reaffirms them in outrageously modern costume. This fast-paced and infinitely witty piece proves that the director has more than a shock or two up her sleeve (or toga as the case may be). Wagga Wagga Amphitheatre. Tel 02 6926 9688.
