Gr8 Par-T! R U coming?
3 – 4 December, Tweed Heads
5 – 6 December, Lismore
A unique multi-arts performance co-directed by Emma Newman and Gabrielle Griffin from NORPA and starring the Barefoot Bunch, 'Gr8 Par-T! R U Coming?' explores the pleasures and dilemmas of using modern technological communications and takes a look at what happens when an invitation to a party goes astray, creating a feeling of being 'left out'. For some people with disabilities, feeling 'left out' can be a reality in everyday life. The work has a contemporary edge and includes dance, physical theatre, video projections and puppetry. 'Gr8 Par-T! R U Coming?' was the result of a Tweed Shire Council project developed in partnership with Tweed Valley Respite Service and NORPA Dance Action. First performed in May 2007 to appreciative schools and the general public in Murwillumbah and now appearing in Tweed Heads Civic Centre and Lismore City Hall in conjunction with the International Day of People with a Disability. Creative Volunteering a winner with community groups
Margaret Jolly (heritage consultant) and Alf Cantrell (President, Mulga Bill Festival) at the Business Planning Workshop on 9 November 2007.The latest Creative Volunteering workshop, Business Planning, held in Parkes on 9 November was a hit. As well as covering the essential areas of planning and management for non-profit and cultural organisations, the workshop was a great networking opportunity for the fifteen participants from across the Central West. Historical societies, musical groups, a dance school, government agencies, councils, a health support group, a neighbourhood centre and festival organisers were all represented at the one day event. Participants were delighted with a course that served to de-mystified the process of business planning and which was accessible and relevant to volunteers and those working in community organisations. "I'm really going to use these templates. This is godsend. It's so useful," said Bev Rowe of the Elvis Gospel Committee. Creative Volunteering –- No Limits is a national initiative of Regional Arts Australia. Each one of the eight one-day courses on offer costs participants just $25.00 and are delivered by a registered training organisation, Community Cultural Development NSW.

Students got to draw, paint, talk, write poems, make music, record voices, take photos and generally have fun while dealing with real issues.
