CIRCUS MONOXIDE’S SUMMER TOUR
5 February, Gloucester
10-13 February, Wollongong
A night of inspired lunacy and “a breath of fresh air” (The Melbourne Age), Circus Monoxide’s all-new show is a riotous night out for the whole family! Virtuosic falling over, heart-stopping aerial routines and a large dose of the old GWB (Gut Wrenching Beauty) are interspersed with delightful and original solo acts in the tradition of vaudeville and sideshow. See circus performers dive off the Monoxide double decker bus, see musicians revealed as it opens up like a Swiss Army Knife and delight at a host of other extraordinary, daring and sublime feats of comedy, theatre and acrobatics. Circus Monoxide’s multi-skilled troupe are drawn from Circus Oz, Acrobat, Montreal and street theatre ‘pitches’ from around the world to mix it up with some of the country’s hottest musicians. A wicked evening of original physical performance and popular theatre - this is circus with a difference! A terrific night out for everyone!

AUSTRALIA COUNCIL TO AXE CCD AND NEW MEDIA ARTS BOARDS
Following a six month review by an internal taskforce last year, the Australia Council has announced a wide-ranging restructure of its organisation and processes to be implemented this July. The controversial shake-up includes the dissolution of the Community Cultural Development and New Media Arts Boards. The changes have been pitched as positioning the Council to be a better "catalyst for growth and development" but they have been met with alarm by many in the nation's arts sector who are concerned they signal a downgrading of the most 'edgy' and unconventional speciality areas of Australian arts practice. More information including links to online discussions on the Regional Arts NSW website here.

NSW filmmaker, writer, actor, law student and former refugee, Khoa Do, was also named Young Australian of the Year for his achievements in film and efforts to improve his community through his craft. (Do made The Finished People about 'at risk' youth in Cabramatta).
