A
new book from Regional Arts Australia and the Australia Council for the Arts,
Heartwork showcases 35 innovative arts projects to highlight the quality

in Launceston, to the A-Maze-ing Labyrinth in Mallacoota, from the Alice Springs
Beanie Festival to Sculpture on the Cliffs in Elliston. Heartwork brings
to life the dynamism of the arts in regional Australia and shows just how exciting
some of the work being produced by artists, artsworkers and volunteers in regional

ARTS
LAW INDIGENOUS PROJECT
Arts Law has been providing services to Indigenous artists throughout their 20-year
history, but the case for specialised services, they say, has always been overwhelming.
At last, Arts Law has employed an Indigenous lawyer and an Indigenous information/liaison
officer as part an initiative to provide enhanced legal services to the Indigenous
arts community. The aim of the project is to increase access to legal advice and
legal information about arts law issues, to develop appropriate publications and
an education program and develop law expertise in the Indigenous community. It's
a significant enhancement of the advice and advocacy services Arts Law provides
to Indigenous artists and Indigenous communities. Arts Law says looks forward
to developing a greater level of understanding and recognition of the rights of
Indigenous artists. Contact Arts Law Tel 02 9356 2566 Email artslaw@artslaw.com.au
