REGIONAL ARTS FUND RENEWED FOR FOUR YEARS
The Federal Government last night made a renewed commitment to the Regional Arts Fund with funding of $10.7m over four years announced in the 2004-2005 Federal Budget. A press release from the Hon Mr Rod Kemp, Minister for the Arts and Sport, described the program as "highly successful" and referred to the review of the Fund in late 2003 which "found that it was achieving significant cultural, social and economic outcomes in regional and remote Australia and contributing to the Government's broader vision of regional sustainability." The Regional Arts Fund will continue to be delivered by Regional Arts NSW in New South Wales, part of the Government's strategy to ensure funding is delivered at the community level and best benefits disadvantaged regional communities. Regional Arts NSW looks forward to funding another four years of tremendous Regional Arts Fund projects in this State (which will include the continuation of the Communications & Promotions program which delivers you this e-Bulletin!). Read the Minister's media release [here].
