New CEO for Regional Arts NSW
1 November 2006
The
Chair of Regional Arts NSW, Meg Larkin, has announced the appointment of Elizabeth
Rogers as the new Chief Executive Officer for the peak arts and cultural development
agency for regional and rural New South Wales.
Ms Rogers has extensive arts management and arts marketing experience gained
from over twenty years work in both metropolitan and regional areas, including
positions as the Manager of Marketing and Communications with the Sydney Conservatorium
of Music and as Director of Canberra Arts Marketing.
"Elizabeth's background in communications and arts marketing will provide
a wonderful base for leading Regional Arts NSW into the next chapter of its growth
and development," Ms Larkin said.
"I am sure that she will bring a positive style and strength to our
organisation and I very much look forward to working with her."
Ms Rogers has been the Manager of Marketing & Communications at the Sydney
Conservatorium of Music since January 2005. In that time she developed and implemented
key marketing and communications strategies to build the profile of the Conservatorium
as the leading music education institution in Australia, to develop audiences
for an extensive concert program and to produce a range of events promoting the
diverse range of activities undertaken by the Conservatorium.
Previously, Ms Rogers was the Director of Australia's leading arts marketing
consortium, Canberra Arts Marketing, which represents a large diversity of arts
organisations including national cultural institutions, national touring companies,
festivals, venues and facilities, commercial and exhibiting galleries, museums,
theatre companies, classical and contemporary music ensembles and orchestras,
film -makers groups, writers groups, community arts and regional arts groups.
In her six and a half years at Canberra Arts Marketing Ms Rogers oversaw the development
of the organisation from twenty to over 100 members.
"I am delighted to be joining Regional Arts NSW," said Ms Rogers.
"I have been a committed supporter of regional arts over the years and I
look forward to meeting and working with the Board, staff members, the regional
boards and, of course, the artists who contribute so much to the cultural well
being of their local communities."
Elizabeth starts at Regional Arts NSW on Monday 4 December.
