Northern Rivers RADO + RAPO appointed

Lois Randall, RADO

Lois Randall is the new Regional Arts Development Officer for the Northern Rivers region.

A resident of Lennox Head, Lois has extensive arts management, policy, fundraising and cultural production skills, as well as nearly 20 years experience in the film and television industry.

Lois has co-ordinated a number of community video projects with young people, Indigenous and NESB women and worked in various capacities on a wide variety of film and video productions for SBS, Metro Screen, and the ABC.

She has worked as a lecturer in media topics for AFTRS, UTS, Southern Cross University and TAFE and developed media based policy for a range of government departments.

Most recently, she was the Executive Director of the Australian Screen Directors Association and Founding Director of Northern Rivers Screenworks. She was the Manager of the Australian Documart and Manager of Government Fund Raising for the Australian International Documentary Conference in 2003 (just concluded).

She also has extensive experience in training, both accredited and non-accredited.

Lois skills are an ideal combination for the RADO role which will require
the establishment of the new Northern Rivers Regional Arts Board, the formation of productive partnerships and the development of a vision for the region’s cultural development.

Cath Fogarty, RAPO

Cath Fogarty is the new Regional Arts Project Officer for the Northern Rivers region.

A former RADO, currently acting Regional Cinema Officer at the NSW FTO, Cath has extensive experience in regional arts development.

As RADO for Outback Arts, Cath managed a number of significant local and regional community based projects through consultation processes, concept development, recruitment, financial planning and implementation.

At the same time she managed partnerships with contributing local governments in the region and national and state funding agencies; established the Regional Arts Board as a vibrant and dynamic regional organisation; established the Regional Indigenous Cultural Officer position and program; conducted projects with Australian Theatre for Young People; a two year circus theatre residency project in Brewarrina and several other projects, and co-ordinated regional tours and workshop programs for the region.

Cath is also a talented ceramicist.

She will commence in November.
